If you haven't seen all the crazy with the hot cocoa bombs, you have probably been living under a rock!
The first time I saw this was when @jetlaggedjalebi created them - and I knew I had to try it because 1. I love chocolate, 2. I love chocolate. It's such a fun activity to do with your kids as well! Head over to her reels - she explains it in detail and also lists the products to use on her page!
That said, I was so inspired to try a desi version of these bombs. I remember whenever we would travel to India during the winter, badaam milk was a given - especially in the Delhi winters!
So, although you can make your own badam dhoodh masala (here's a recipe by @milkandcardamom https://milkandcardamom.com/2020/12/17/doodh-masala/) I opted for a simple route: to use @gitsfood Badam drink mix! Think of it as the Indian hot cocoa with the milk powder, almond, cardamom infused flavors!
To make this:
Finely chop 20 almonds and pistachios (keep in separate bowls)
Use yellow Wilton candy melts (it gives it that Kesar like color!) and melt them in a bowl (30 second increments) until the chocolate is smooth
Make the "bombs" per the tutorial by @jetlaggedjalebi
Fill half of the sphere with 2 tbsp of badaam milk mix, add finely chopped almonds and pistachios (you can also add edible roses for that pop of color as I did!)
Garnish with drizzled chocolate and pistachios
Add to hot milk (with a dash of pyaar ;)) and Enjoy!!
To be honest, this was such a fun way to have one of my favorite winter treats- and my husband also loved it!
Thanks to Nitasha at @jetlaggedjalebi for the inspiration!
